Johnson Law Group, LLC is hiring an experienced and self-motivated Human Resources Director
At Johnson Law Group, we provide legal services for individuals needing representation in divorce, custody, and estate planning matters throughout Colorado. Johnson Law Group currently employs 50+ people and provides quality counseling and advocacy to several hundred clients each year.

In this moment, we are seeking an experienced and self-motivated Human Resources Director to develop and manage all HR needs for a rapidly growing law firm. These duties are outlined below. Previous law firm experience is preferred, but not required.
Job Duties
The Human Resources Director will be responsible for developing and overseeing all HR functions and ensuring that our firm remains a great place to work. We're searching for the right candidate who can plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, and employee activities ensuring legal compliance. The HR Director will administer and oversee the human resource programs including, but not limited to, worker’s compensation, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; recognition, employee engagement; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
The job duties as a Human Resources Director will generally include the following:
- Develop, recommend, and implement program objectives, policies, training and procedures to support the firm’s HR compliance and strategy.
- Provide subject matter expertise in all things Human Resources.
- Investigate and respond to internal and external complaints of misconduct, and handle other complex, high-risk, or sensitive employee matters exercising discretion, and using independent judgment to determine outcomes and appropriate corrective action.
- Provide consultation, guidance and coaching to managers to address employee behavior and performance concerns.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of the laws and policies affecting all human resource topics to include employment laws and company policies. Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and
local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Management of all employee personnel issues.
- Payroll processing, vendor management, and management of all employee benefit questions to include PTO, retirement plans, medical plans, etc. Responsible for maintaining HRIS including PTO/Sick Time balances and approvals as well as maintaining accuracy for all employee data including compensation, taxes, benefit and 401k deductions and direct deposit.
- Placement of employee new hire ads, hiring, on boarding, and termination/resignation requests.
- Develop and pursue new goals and objectives for improvement in areas of employee relations, team development and employee retention activities.
- Stay updated on HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies, communicating relevant updates to the executive team.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Firm wide support as needed, though primarily will lead the Human Resources Department.
Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in human resources, preferably in a legal or professional services setting.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, compliance, and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM, PHR, or SPHR)
