Education and Background: Courtney Ragland, a native of Southern Illinois, holds a Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from Southern Illinois University School of Law. Prior to her legal studies, she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Criminology from Webster University, where she also excelled as a member of the women’s basketball team.
Legal Experience: During her time in law school, Courtney demonstrated a deep commitment to serving vulnerable families. She served as a law clerk at Land of Lincoln Legal Aid, providing free legal assistance in central and Southern Illinois. Additionally, she actively supported survivors at SIU’s Domestic Violence Clinic. Her legal insight expanded further during her tenure as a 711 intern in traffic and misdemeanor at St. Clair County State's Attorney’s Office, where she gained invaluable experience in Criminal Law.
